System Updates: Enhancing the Rift Experience
Competitive battles are at the heart of the Tournament, and we’re committed to making every match as thrilling and balanced as possible. To enhance the Tournament experience, we’ve introduced a dedicated set of refinements tailored specifically for it. Meanwhile, a much larger wave of changes is coming in the Global Release, bringing even more impactful adjustments. Some of the Tournament-specific tweaks may even serve as a preview of what’s to come. If you’re eager to stay up to date, here are the key updates you won’t want to miss:
Mana Inside Aether Rifts
• Mana Regeneration ー The passive mana regeneration bonus inside rifts has been removed. Note that this only refers to regeneration that was granted in addition to base combat regeneration from attributes.
• Mana Restoration ー Reduced the Mana Restoration from Normal creatures from 15% to 10%, and Elite creatures from 60% to 40%.
These adjustments address the issue of excessive mana availability in the Rift, ensuring Rift battles remain challenging and tactical.
Skill & RavenCard Updates
Bloodbath (Warfare):
• Healing was reduced to 33% effectiveness when using ranged weapons.
Fierce Leap (Minotaur Duelist):
• Removed the stun and solid walls around the outside of the effect. Now, the area affected applies a slow and a bleed that stacks up to 4 times and lasts for 5 seconds, with the effect being renewed every time an additional stack is applied. The area affected is larger than previously and lasts starting from 1 second, scaling by 1 second per rarity.
Spirit’s Resolve (Dwarf Commoner):
• Healing scaling reduced from 15% to 5% per rarity level.
Shadowbind (Cave Spider):
• Silence duration scaling was reduced from 0.2 seconds per rarity level to 0.1 seconds.
Whirlwind (Bat):
• Bat’s disarm effect was replaced with a reduction to Weapon Power and Spell Power for 4 seconds, starting with 10% and scaling by 5% per rarity.
• Cooldown increases were removed.
Whirlwind (Ghaz Sandbender):
• Damage increased for Ghaz Sandbender. Now, the damage of the skill is increased by 5% Spell Power, scaling at 5% per rarity.
• Cooldown increases were removed.
Barrier (Pearlshell Giant):
• Reduced the scaling of the strength of the barrier to the starting point of 10% and scaling 5% per rarity.
Force Push (Crowman):
• Reduced the duration of the barrier from 8 to 4 seconds and no longer increases the cooldown of the skill. Now, the barrier is applied to all party members rather than two nearest allies, however the barrier applied to allies is 50% of the caster's barrier and it is equal to a starting point of 120% Healing Power scaling at 20% per rarity.
• Shields all party members for 50% of the caster’s barrier strength for 4 seconds.
• No longer increases cooldown.
Melee and Ranged Changes
Ranged players have always had the advantage of, well, range over Melee players. This, however, was intended to be offset by providing a 20% slowing effect that Melee players could apply to others when they managed to land a basic attack on their opponent. This effect would last for 2 seconds, theoretically providing Melee players with a better chance to win a PvP encounter without being overly oppressive against Ranged players, who would still have the possibility to escape.
We have noticed that this mechanic does not work as intended: the effect begins with the first second already considered completed, effectively reducing the duration to just 1 second.
To address this, we are increasing the duration to a total of 4 seconds, meaning the slow will now last for a full 3 seconds. The intention behind this change is to give Melee players a slightly better ability to chase down their opponents, as even the original 2 seconds was insufficient for most players to keep up with someone fighting from a distance.
These changes ensure fair play while providing players with more opportunities to adapt and strategize.
Fixes
• Fixed an issue where the Hoghound Archer RavenCard has its Critical Chance scaling 10% per rarity instead of 2% as intended.
• Fixed an issue where the Warlock Ezanor RavenCard on Mirror Image was not applying damage correctly inside of Aether Rifts when using certain skills.
Mark your calendars for February 1st and get ready to witness the first major tournament in RavenQuest history.
