Update 1.0.5 Notes

Happy Patch Day, Adventurers! We have another big one for you today... Update 1.0.5 introduces new systems, improvements to many systems and a stronger balance to some consistent outliars.

Venture into the depths of RavenQuest with the new Fairy Light System, and further utilize your Vested Tokens immediately with new support to use Vested Tokens for rerolling your Land Perks.

The Leaderboards have awakened! Showcase your might and rise through the ranks across Legacy Levels, Professions, Aether Rifts, Renown, Guild Crests and more! This Update also features much requested adjusted Rift windows, alongside a host of bug fixes and quality-of-life features to ensure that your adventure is smoother than ever!

Now, let's dive in together!

At your request — and as part of our ongoing expansion of Play to Unlock possibilities — you can now use your Vested Tokens for rerolling Land Perks! This new option gives Landowners greater flexibility in shaping their territory and optimizing their land for their adventure ahead!

But this is just the start. The next evolution of $QUEST goes live this week! We're just getting started here, Adventurers. We don't rest, until $QUEST is the case study of Token Ecosystems. While RavenQuest has always been a Web2.5 experience at its heart, we recognize that the Web3 side needs more firepower behind it. We’ve built an incredible game as the foundation — now it’s time to bring $QUEST to the next level.

Up until now, $QUEST has felt like a supplementary currency. It does not feel how it should, as the lifeblood of the RavenQuest Ecosystem. This is changing in a big way, with $QUEST having direct utility in more core aspects of RavenQuest, and this is just the start of that.

$QUEST will be the currency you’ll fight for, trade for, and never want to let go.  We continue to build relentlessly, Adventurers.

[Available After Maintenance!] With Update 1.0.5, we're thrilled to announce that the Leaderboards have arrived! Your journey can now be measured, recognized, and immortalized. The time has come to show the world who truly masters the arts of war, crafting, and conquest. Click on the names below to access the Leaderboards:

And this is just the beginning... new Leaderboard categories are already in development, and we are currently working on Healthplate Adornments, allowing the top Adventurers to stand out amongst all Adventurers for their dominance. The only question that remains: will your name be remembered, Adventurer?

To improve visibility in underground areas, we're introducing the Fairy Light System! These magical creatures will permanently expand your field of view below the surface. 6 unique NPCs scattered across RavenQuest will become available through the Artifacts System, each offering a chance to unlock fairies that emit different levels of light. You’ll be able to track the requirements for each one directly in the Journal UI.

Among RavenQuest’s many tales, those of fairies are perhaps the most enchanting. Mischievous and mysterious, these whimsical beings are said to bring both fortune and chaos wherever they flutter. Born from pure light and constantly phasing in and out of existence, fairies are rare and elusive. Yet, taverns still buzz with rumors of people capturing them in glass bottles, selling them as dazzling treasures.

It’s whispered that freeing a fairy from its crystalline prison bestows the Blessing of Fairy Light, illuminating even the darkest caves and deepest chasms. So next time someone claims they’ve caught lightning in a bottle — listen closely. They might just hold the key to lighting your path on your next great adventure.

Misc

  • All Aether Rift windows have been moved 1 hour later to better align with server schedules.
  • Players can now move items to empty slots even when using an active filter in the Inventory.
  • A server-wide message will now appear whenever a player obtains a Mythic or Legendary RavenCard.
  • The character selection screen now displays a single slot per character, removing the multiple slots previously shown.
  • Yetis and Minotaurs have been reclassified under the Rangers Company creature categories, moving from the "Beasts" category to the "Giants" category.
  • The assets displayed for Breeding on the Land Tracker have been updated to show the new, correct images, replacing the old ones for a more accurate representation.

Fishing & Ocean

  • Increased the casting range when fishing from the shore, making it easier to reach those tricky fishing spots that were previously blocked by the environment.
  • Players now only fish ocean nodes while properly boarded onto a ship. This change ensures that ocean fishing remains a true seafaring activity.
  • PvP protection no longer applies while on the ocean, even for players below Level 20. The ocean is considered a high-risk, high-reward environment, and this change reinforces its role as an open PvP area for all adventurers brave enough to set sail.
  • Infamy gained from PvP encounters on the ocean is now standardized. Instead of being influenced by level differences, players will now always receive 200 Infamy as the killer and 150 as the helper, making the system clearer and more consistent for everyone involved.

These changes create a more balanced system, ensuring that daring pirates still stand out, while encouraging fairer and more engaging PvP combat on the ocean!

Tradepacks

As RavenQuest’s economy continues to evolve, so too do the professions that fuel it. A fresh surge in demand has emerged for Tradepacks centered around Herbalism, sparking new opportunities for tradesmen, ship captains, and caravaneers alike!

The following herbal-themed Tradepacks have been added and are now available for creation and delivery:

  • Oceanic Stimulants
  • Necrobane Kit
  • Moisture Aging
  • Elemental Sprout
  • Hardy Roots
  • Exotic Spices
  • Cavedweller Findings
  • Pirates’ Anesthetic
  • Seer’s Support Pack
  • Lush Fibers
  • Bittersweet Delights
  • Sombershade Toppings
  • Poisoner’s Kit
  • Yornish Seasonings
  • Widow’s Box

Prepare your wagons and vessels — these fragrant, potent, and sometimes dangerous goods are in high demand!

Archetypes

This Update also brings a few very important and significantly mentioned balance adjustments to 3 Archetype passives that are not leading to a strong PvP environment. While we try to be light on balances unless absolutely neccesary, these 3 are common hot topic passives that definitely needed adjusting to promote a stronger pvp environment.

Bloodbath

  • Reduced the amount of stacks provided by other melee attacks from 5 → 4.
  • When dual wielding or using a Light Blade, basic melee attacks now properly grant half the stacks of a two-handed weapon.
  • New Description: Whenever you deal damage with your basic attacks, gain one stack of Bloodbath for 4 seconds. Melee dual wielding and Light Blade basic attacks will give two times the amount, while other melee attacks will give four times the amount, stacking up to 100 times. Each Bloodbath stack increases the damage of basic attack by 0.75%.

We've fixed a discrepancy in how stacks were generated between one-handed and two-handed weapons. Previously, both weapon types generated stacks at the same rate, giving one-handed setups an unintended balance issues. This has now been fixed.

Deadly Duelist

  • Reduced the attack speed granted from 20% → 15%.
  • New Description: When dual wielding or using a Light Blade, gain 15% Attack Speed. Gain 5% critical damage when not dual wielding or using a Light Blade.

This passive was providing are exceptionally high advantage to specifically light weapons, its effect has been adjusted to bring it more in line with other weapon types.

Undying Will

  • Increased the cooldown between activations from 2 → 3 minutes.
  • Reduced Health threshold required to trigger from 20% → 15%.
  • Reduced Defense Power the passive provides from 200% → 160%.
  • New Description: Whenever your health is below 15%, raise your Defense Power by 160% for 6 seconds. This effect can occur once every 3 minutes.

Originally designed as a survival tool for tanks, this passive was so overtuned that it was being used by virtually all builds, Tank, DPS, Healer, as an no-brainer safety net for all builds. With this, we have made adjustments to its cooldown, Defensive Power bonus, and Health threshold aimed to reorient it toward its intended role, and reducing the redundancy of it being used in virtually all builds.

  • Icestorm no longer applies unintended Frost Stacks.
  • Plunder Chests will no longer drop in unreachable locations.
  • Serafine is now correctly classified as part of the Vampire creature family.
  • Experience gained from Aether Stones now correctly counts towards Adventurer's Board Hunting tasks.
  • Community Land taxes have been corrected, and players will no longer be taxed more than once per week.
  • The Dwarf Thunderer RavenCard now works correctly in Aether Rifts — its charges are now properly applied.
  • House upgrades on Community Land are now persistent across channels without needing to wait for the server save.
